I will be having one of my photographs featured in one more group exhibition in my home country. I can’t be any happier. Blank Wall Gallery, in Athens, Greece is hosting their next exhibition with participating artists from around the world. I’m honored to be among so many talented individuals. The exhibition will be on from the 28th of April, until the 11th of May 2017.
The theme of this group exhibition is “Moments of Color”. I will be participating with my photograph “Basket Case”, from my series “Unknown China: Shaoshu Minzu” (a long term work in progress, depicting the Chinese ethnic minorities). It is true that the colors of this image can be quite captivating.
A few words about “Moments of color”:
Colors can be found everywhere around us. They make our life more interesting and happier. We can always relate our mood with a color and a color can definitely change the way we feel. This is a truth that no one can deny or question. As a result, colors consist a source of inspiration for photographers. Sometimes it is the color itself that makes a scene worth shot, or a photograph worth seeing. It is the color that may make the difference after all.
Color, can convey a lot of different meanings and emotions. It can create a whole atmosphere and narrate a different story each time. Colors evoke feelings and reactions. Many people like or dislike a photograph because of its colors and this is natural. Also, the perception of objects can be different according to their color. One thing cannot be denied: Vivid, saturated colors always attract viewers’ attention and provoke reactions either positive or negative according to everyone’s taste, phychology and aesthetics. Not everybody will react the same way to the same color, because colors influence us on levels, nevertheless, they do react.
